FABRICATE 2024 conference is over - its legacy remains in the FABRICATE 2024 “Creating Resourceful Futures” publication, the 5th volume in the series.

This year’s conference emphasized the need for new architectural production models that rethink resource deployment and environmental impact. The associated book showcases innovative approaches by designers, engineers, and makers, offering tangible models for addressing resource scarcity and the climate emergency.

We are thrilled to see that 5 of the projects published are affiliated with research groups working here at the Institute of Technology in Architecture, ETH Zurich:

STRIATUS 2.0 / Phoenix - Improving Circularity of 3D-Concrete-Printed Unreinforced Masonry Structures / Block Research Group, ETH Zurich

PRŌTÓPLASTO / A Discrete Roof-Column System with Hollow-Core 3D Printing and Bespoke Space Frames / Digital Building Technologies, ETH Zurich

IMPACT PRINTED STRUCTURES / Design Systems and Construction Strategies / Gramazio Kohler Research, ETH Zurich

KNITNERVI / Lightness and Tailored Materiality for Flexible Concrete Construction / Block Research Group, ETH Zurich

TOR ALVA / A 3D Concrete Printed Tower / Digital Building Technologies, ETH Zurich
