Digital Building Technologies DBT, ETH Zurich group has three projects listed as finalist in the 3D Pioneers Challenge 2024 and will be exhibited at the external page Rapid.Tech 3D fair in Frankfurt from 14 to 16 May 2024. 3D Pioneers Challenge 3DPC is an international design competition for additive manufacturing and advanced technologies, and seeks to award creative innovations with long-term appeal, as well as operational projects that drive the implementation of additive technologies in the established manufacturing industry.

Airlements

This research project investigates foam 3D-printing of cement-free mineral foams from recycled waste for monolithic, lightweight, and insulated wall elements.

Tor Alva

Tor Alva, the tallest 3D-printed modular tower with load-bearing, fully reinforced printed concrete, showcases a scalable building system.

Prōtóplasto

Prōtóplasto, an ultralight installation, uses a novel AM technique for extruding large hollow polymer beads, enabling unprecedented build rates.
